Question : I am a mom of 2 with a husband who has not worked since i met him 10 years ago. We have 2 kids (1 month and 3 year old). Also a rental property adn our duplexed marital home. I also have a 2005 crv in may name. He is claiming he will automatically get 50% of everything. Other thing is he just started a factory line job makeing 12$ an hour. I make 100,00K a year. I have begged him to work all these years and going on mat leave with three mouths to feed was what broke my back. Irony: we both have graduate level degrees; he just never did anything with his. He quit life 10 years ago to my shock and I inherited a dependant. what are my chances? What can I fight for in this divorce?

Question : hi, I am co-owner of a house as joint tenant with another person. We are doing an extensive renovation. We initially had a contractor but we had to fire him because he was overcharging and under delivering. He now has put a lien on the house. Due to the breakdown of the business relationship between me and my co-owner we each have our own countersuit against our contractor. To date I have spent more money on the renovation than my co-owner (about 50,000 more). This money was paid to the contractor we fired at the time that he still was hired by us. Our renovation is still on going. I have indicated to my co-owner that I am reluctant to pay for more expenses as I feel that my co-owner still owes me money (after all, I spent 50,000 more so far). She claims I have to get that money back from the fired contractor and that she is not responsible for that difference. Who is right? Thanks

Question : I have a 4 month old female child, Her father and I have only dated, we have never cohabitated. I am filing for custody, guardianship of said child. The father has anger management issues and I have had times when the police were called in order for him to leave after a visitation. He is allowed to visit twice a week for one hour each session. I have hired someone to monitor his visits due to his anger issues against me, however the cost was beyond my income. Now I have my parents present for all his visits and his parents have also been attending the visits for the last few months. These visits occur at my residence. The father is questioning paternity and is delaying the custody case, using this as a delaying tactic. The father has sold his condo, and all of his belongings and lives with his parents. He has not worked in over 4 years, however he now wants additional visitation,while the paternity suit is decided. He has voluntarily provided $750.00 in cash when the child was 2 weeks old. I am a well established secondary teacher for the past 16 years, however, I have large payments and will need to end my maternity leave in DEcember 2009. What are the chances that the father will be able to babysit the child when I have to work? Also he does not show any actual baby skills and will not take direction on baby’s care. His response is when it is his visitation, he will do as he pleases. The child often cries for the majority of his visits. Will I get custody, and sole guardianship due to not living together and/or never married?

In 2007 I purchased_a RV and vehicle in Texas, registered both in Texas after subscribing to a mail service in Texas. I am now told by the U.S. Custom Services that I am not allowed to have any vehicle registered in the U.S. because I am not a resident of the U.S. Can I register the vehicle in Canada and still not be considered “resident” in Canada. I do have a an rv site in Canada and have a B.C. driver’s license. I want to avoid becoming a resident of Canada. If I do have to become a resident of Canada how many days per year must I reside there? I do not need Canadian Medical care.

Question : if my wife wanted a divorce, what would I have to pay her. We have 4 kids in total. She had 2 before, one she recieves child support for and the oldest does not live with us and is almost 16. The 2 youngest are 5 and 8 and ours together. I make 75k a year, she doesnt work. she is employed but does not work much. She went back to school last year and intends on going back. She could work but doesnt like it.
